Jekyll and Hyde have been at their boyfriend's house for the last 24 hours and it has been bliss... the mood swings and tantrums have been better since the weekend but the atmosphere has been so much lighter and more fun today.
So.. what's happened since I last wrote? More working, more pouncing on innocent backpackers to try and sell them rooms, making more friends, dancing with the chefs, looooads of wave diving with Sadie (none of the other girls want to get their hair wet... gay), sunbathing, film watching, birthday celebrating and visiting AUSTRALIA ZOO!!!! Australia zoo was amazing - really sad to see all the tributes to Steve, makes you realise what a wonderful person we lost, but it's nice that they keep his memory alive so vividly. The animals were in the most fantastic condition and it was a fantastically run zoo. I held an alligator, stroked a kangaroo and a koala. We saw the crocodiles being fed - that was awesome - I love animals so much. The Bengal tigers were stunning (their markings are so vivid and beautiful) and the elephants were cool and mega chilled, Sadie fed one of them. We had a brilliant day, it was great fun.
It was lyanne's birthday on thursday night and sadies birthday on friday night so we had a big birthday party for them on friday. I worked until 10pm, we had a few drinks here at the hostel and then went to the Rock nightclub on Hastings St. It was such a funny night - Sadie and I went to the beach at about 3am with some people had met in the club and we got in at 6.30am (found Sally outside 7-11 on the way - haha!) Sadie was very worse for wear and had given her dress to another girl after going swimming at about 4am, so she was wearing a man's t-shirt and only had one shoe!! We were still a bit drunk when we got in and we had to start work less than an hour later! We had a quick kip on the sofa and woke up giggling our heads off and I was wearing a 'slap the goon hat! I dont know where that came from! We went to work, blew up the coffee machine, gave the worst customer service ever and danced around the kitchen for about an hour before the hangover kicked in!! Luckily Ilona (who i love to bits) was the chef that morning - she told us we needed juice and fatty food so kept feeding us things like hash browns and french toast! haha. She is a legend, such a lovely, lovely lady. I will miss her lots when I leave (she's already told me she's going to try to lock me in the kitchen!) and I will also miss Sadie, Lyanne, Mark, Oscar,Joel, Carmen, Birtel, Sally and Sarah so although I'm ready to move on, I think it's going to be a bit sad when I leave on Thursday!! Yesterday evening (valentines day) I went to an outdoor cinema at Eumundi with Sally - we got completely lost on the way there and had to hitch a lift with some guy as we were in pitch black darkness and completley the wrong side of town!! The film was dirty dancing and it was brilliant - we took sleeping bags and cushions and settled down on the grass, we got glow sticks and chocolate hearts - what more could we want?!
I am going to dinner with some friends of Ben's on wednesday night, they live on Sunrise beach in Noosa so am looking forward to that! Brisbane on Thursday, Adelaide on Friday and then hopefully the great ocean road as soon as I work out how I'm going to get there! I am sure I have lots more to tell you but that's all I can think of for now!
