Bollocks

I have got tonsilitis!

Some of you know how much I suffer when I get this bloody illness.. it always knocks me for six and I hate it!!
I felt a bit better yesterday but was out of breath doing the smallest things and got virtually no sleep last night because my throat is so swollen and painful. So I got up at 7 this morning and went straight to the doctors (huffing and puffing all the way!) I had to pay about $70 for the consultation and antibiotics but hopefully the antibiotics will knock it on the head! I am still overdosing on paracetamol, ibuprofen, iodine mouth wash and strepsils too! I hate feeling so weak and pathetic and it is horrible not having anyone around to look after me! There are a few canadian guys in the dormitory who had tonsilitis a few weeks ago who are quite sweet and keep asking how I am etc but its not the same as having someone around who genuinely cares... so i am feeling very sorry for myself and teary!
On a kind of (but not really) positive note.. the doctor I saw this morning was really clued up on my medical condition and said that i should never have been allowed to scuba dive with all the medication I am on as it could have been fatal. He advised against doing it again unless I am feeling particularly crazy and if so, I must have thorough monitoring of my steroid and thyroid levels before and after the dive... Apparently both of those things effect heart ryhthm and fluid levels in the body and so are very important when scuba diving. For example, thyroxine stimulates the heart to beat faster or slower and if my body needed more thyoxine to keep my heart going while under stressful dive conditions then my body doesnt produce it naturally so basically, I'd be f**ked. (How did I not know this before... it seems every year I find out something about my condition that really I should already know about but I dont). It's SO annoying that its another thing that I have to miss out on because I loved it...but it's very lucky that nothing bad happened on the two dives I went on! Apparently i have water bubbles behind my ear drums but the doctor said they should go once my tonsilitis goes.. if not, I will just be even more deaf than usual.. haha... hmmm... what's that?
I dont have to go on the boat for training today because my boss got the day wrong - it is tommorow he wants me there and he wants me to go out on the boat for 3 days (leave 11am on Wednesday and back 11am on Friday). I hope I am feeling better by then and I dont give this bloody horrible illness to anyone else!
I am going to stop moaning now! (Well to you anyway, I will continue to moan to myself!)
BLEUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

xx
