Joining the dishie legends....

It's my day off today, so after having had a nap (which accidentally lasted for 3 hours!!) I've decided I had better update you....

I am now working as a dishie at the hostel which involves pouncing on backpackers when they come off the greyhound buses, giving a welcome/information speech to the new guests in the evenings, waitressing and washing dishes. It is sooooo much better than cleaning the self catering kitchen - I get 2 days a week off, 2 mornings on and 3 evenings on. The mornings are really quiet and start around 7.15 so it means I get from 11am onwards to do whatever I want, woopwoop!! I am meeting more people and it's more fun. I have also moved into the staff flat with Sadie, Michelle, Lyanne and Mark which is heavenly compared to the dorms ive been in for the last 3 months... I have my own wardrobe/cupboard and we have our own bathroom, lounge and a kitchen :)

I've had my birthday and australia day since I last wrote which was good... I was working but still had a nice day... I had pancakes for breakfast, Shell gave me a present which made my day! I opened up my cards from Jordan, Peter, George, Kelly, Katy and Jenny and went to the beach. In the evening I was suprised with birthday cake, presents, balloons and a card from the other staff!! When it got quiet here at the hostel around midnight, I went with some guests I'd met to the beach and stayed there a few hours which was fun. I left a note in the kitchen saying "it's my bday, please be good and tidy up after yourselves today" someone left a note saying happy birthday in return but generally the note didn't make any difference... it still looked like a bomb had hit it when I got in there!

One of the girls that works here and I live with (Sadie) wants to go Australia Zoo, as do I... so we are going to go together on her birthday - 12th Feb. I am looking fwd to that! Hopefully we can get some discounts from reception!

Mum sent me 2 copies of the Petersfield Post along with a bday card from her and from Debs and Ben which made my week... The Petersfield post is soooo funny - especially the articles about Keith the mystery hero (who actually turned out to be Peter) Oh dear Jordan, I hope you didnt get in too much trouble revealing his identity?! It definitely gave me giggles though so thank you!! haha!
I was also particularly amused by the fact that a cockerel called Colin made front page headlines on one of the papers... there really isn't anything going on in Petersfield now the snow is over is there?! haha

I hope that you're all well!
There are storms going on at the moment so I am off to read my book... I have got completely and utterly hooked on new moon - the vampire and werewolf nonsense! (that's what happens when you have to settle for whatever the last backpacker left behind on the bookshelf! haha)

Lots of love x
